Maslin Beach

Towering ochre cliffs & Australia's first legal nude beach

Sweeping beach beneath dramatic multi-coloured ochre cliffs, famous for its unbroken length and for being the first legal clothing-optional beach in Australia.

Ochre cliffs & long sand

Maslin Beach runs for more than 5km beneath dramatic multi-coloured ochre and limestone cliffs that rise up to 70m above the sand. The colour contrast between the pale sand, turquoise water and the ochre-and-grey cliffs makes this one of the most visually striking beaches on the peninsula.

First legal clothing-optional beach

The southern end of Maslin Beach was declared Australia's first legal clothing-optional beach in 1975 and remains so today. The northern end is a conventional beach popular for walking, swimming and surfing.

Access

There are two main access points: Gulf Parade (the northern end, near the general store) and the steep track down the cliffs at the Maslin Beach southern car park.
