A converted shearing shed brewery on a working family farm, with panoramic ocean views over Carrickalinga to Cape Jervis - one of the most scenic brewery destinations on the Peninsula.

A brewery in a shearing shed

Forktree Brewing was built into the old shearing shed of the Hatcher family farm, high above Carrickalinga on the Forktree Road ridge. The brewhouse and tap room sit inside the original sheep race, with the floor still showing the wear from a century of crossing hooves. The deck off the back of the shed has uninterrupted views down to the Carrickalinga coast and west to Kangaroo Island on a clear day.

The beers

The house range covers a pale ale, an IPA, a lager, a stout and an ever-rotating list of small-batch seasonals brewed onsite. Tasting paddles let you work through the lineup, and the bar pours pints, schooners and takeaway cans.

Food and family

Forktree runs a full wood-fired pizza kitchen and a kids menu, and the surrounding farm paddocks make it one of the more family-friendly brewery destinations on the Peninsula. The deck fills fast on summer Sundays - book ahead.
